Temuera Morrison MNZM, (born 26 December 1960), is a New Zealand actor who rose to prominence in New Zealand for playing Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street. His critically acclaimed performances include Jake The Muss Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994) and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. Morrison gained international fame through his roles in the Star Wars franchise, notably as Jango Fett and his clone offspring, including Boba Fett and the clone troopers. He originated the role of Jango in the 2002 film Attack of the Clones. He voiced Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back (2004 re-release) and video games, and later starred as Boba in The Mandalorian (2019–present) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022). In 2022, he had a recurring role in the black ops thriller series Echo 3. He provided the voice for Chief Tui, Moana's father, in the Disney film Moana (2016), as well as portraying Tom Curry, Arthur Curry's father, in DCEU films such as Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Early life Morrison, born on December 26, 1960, in Rotorua, New Zealand's North Island. His parents are Hana Morrison (née Stafford) and musician Laurie Morrison. His ancestry is Māori (Te Arawa and Tainui) as well as Scottish and Irish. He is related to performer Taini Morrison (sister) and musician Sir Howard Morrison (uncle). His secondary education took place at Wesley College, Auckland, and Western Heights High School, Rotorua.
